Founded in 2005, Constant Wonder Records is an outgrowth of the work of the innovative performing duo Constant Wonder. The company is dedicated to teaching children about science, nature, and the world around us through original stories and music. Constant Wonder Records has created its first CD, "Walk with Wonder," in the same spirit of curiosity that informs Constant Wonder's live shows, which are known for combining upbeat music with nature-oriented theatre games and plenty of hands-on audience participation. This is no three-chord children's recording. The music in "Walk with Wonder" employs a richly vivid harmonic palette, beginning with the happy Caribbean beat of the title tune and progressing onward to the slinky, bluesy shuffle of "Who Am I, Anyway?" to a song about insect defense mechanisms - "Ladybug" - to the funky, R & B-styled "Who Lays the Eggs?" In "Walk with Wonder," the songs are woven together through a storyline that takes listeners on a walk from the woods to the beach to the pond and back home again. This CD harkens back to radio days, complete with characters, sound effects, unexpected outcomes and lots of opportunities to wonder.
