Brainy Tunes CDs are aimed at educated, upscale parents who want something different (and a wee bit challenging) for their kids, ages 3-9. Charming but never cutesy, they are hailed by parents for their witty, colorful lyrics, appealing vocals, and a depth of melody and musical sophistication seldom heard on recordings for children.

Creator Ira Marlowe assumes kids to be creative, intelligent and hilarious and refuses to condescend to them. Instead, he deliberately sprinkles his songs with information just enough over kids' heads to spark questions and curiosity. Fans have described Brainy Tunes music as "Baby Einstein meets Schoolhouse Rock".

Marlowe has been featured by National Public Radio and is a winner of the prestigious Parents' Choice Award and the San Francisco "Best of the Bay" contest. He has also been honored by Artists for Literacy and was chosen by The Learning Company to write the theme for their flagship Reader Rabbit series. He lives with his wife in Oakland, CA.
