Founded
in late 2003, Karmel Games Inc., is an innovative games' company
focusing on bringing "intelligent fun"™ to the family and
educational markets. The company's founder, Dennis Klein, started
Karmel Games after retiring from a career in the computer field.
It was his passion for word games that inspired the company's first
product, Anagramania®, which became one of
the most highly acclaimed games of 2005 and winner of ten prestigious
industry awards including a NAPPA 2005 Gold Award and an iParenting
Media 2005 Award. In February 2006, the company introduced its second
game, Nymble™. Known as the "hilarious game
of equals and opposites", Nymble is also a word game, and like its
predecessor has already received high acclaim and several awards.
The newest game launched is Equalz. This interactive
card game for two to six players offers fun for children, parents
and teachers, too. In each round, players try to produce multiple
arithmetic expressions that match a randomly selected target number.
The game tests mental skills and creative ability, and includes
an optional buy/sell rule for an entertaining twist. Karmel Games
also carries a patent-pending Universal Games Timer (UGT)
– a simple-to-use electronic timer that can be used to replace sand
and clockwork timers.
Karmel Games is headquartered in Thousand Oaks, California and its
products are widely available in specialty toy & game and educational
stores, as well as through a number of online retailers and printed
catalogs. The company has already entered international markets,
with distribution in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
