Founded in 2003, Laughing Pizza is a completely unique concept in family entertainment.
Lisa, Billy and their young daughter Emily are a real family musical band. They
present a distinctive spin on entertainment for kids and their parents, and create
cool and infectious pop songs that inspire and entertain.
Laughing Pizza is honored to have performed at the White House and the Tribeca
Film Family Festival in 2005. The band's recorded music and videos have earned
five consecutive awards from the Parents' Choice Foundation, the nation's oldest
evaluator of children's products, as well as three awards from i-Parenting,
the largest parenting network online.
The band has appeared on CNN and CNN Headline News, and has also been featured
in Money Magazine (April 2005), Nick Jr. (June 2005), Parenting
(July 2005), School Library Journal (August 2005) and more.
Equipped with first-rate musical educations from some of the world's leading
institutions, Lisa Michaelis and Billy Schlosser both pursued careers in music
long before they met on "Star Search" and later married. Now a family
of three, they're acting on their dream to work together, share their love of
music, and fill the void "between Barney and Britney" with suitable,
pop-oriented, family-friendly entertainment. Laughing Pizza is a slice of heaven
for parents searching for wholesome musical entertainment in the midst of current
and pervasive media deemed inappropriate for youngsters. The band's guiding
principle is to celebrate one's differences and similarities, to encourage
love and understanding, and to promote harmony – literally and figuratively.
The name "Laughing Pizza" comes from the notion that everybody loves
laughing and everybody loves pizza - and they're both best when they're shared
- just like the music from the band!
