Nature Theatre is the stage for folk singer/songwriter/storyteller
Foster Brown, who brings his original brand of edu-tainment to audiences throughout
the Midwest and beyond. He weaves storytelling within and between his songs
to create a memorable mosaic of educational fun. Foster has earned an enthusiastic
following of youngsters and families who enjoy his live performances through
Cleveland Metroparks or at area libraries, schools and public events. His scope
reaches throughout the nation, appearing at folk festivals, nature centers,
national parks and other events across the United States.
By sharing natural and cultural history through the arts, Foster imparts valuable
information with self-created educational characters, storytelling, folk songs
and original music. His discography includes four recordings of children's nature
songs, two local-history song collections about the Cleveland Metroparks and
the Ohio & Erie Canal, plus a folk music autobiography about his rural Indiana
upbringing.
One of Foster's recordings, 'Naturally,' was a winner of the 2004 Parents’
Choice Recommended Award. In 2005, he was honored with the National
Association for Interpretation Regional and National Master Front-Line Interpreter
Awards. Most recently, Foster released a new children’s CD in
June 2006: 'Songs From a Naturalist’s Notebook.'This recording has also
earned a 2006 Parents' Choice 'Recommended' Award. All of these
national awards speak to the growing impact of Foster's music.
