Sugarfoots is a home-based business that has been in existence since 1992. Sugarfoots are soft-sewn rag dolls created in the complexion shades of Cocoa, Ginger, and Cinnamon. Sugarfoots dolls are designed in two sizes, 15" and 25." The prototypes are as follows:
- Girl doll with dress, contrasting pinafore and pantaloons.
- Boy doll with oversized overalls with contrasting shirt and coofie hat, which tucks neatly into the overall front pocket.
- Reggae rags outfitted in traditional Caribbean colors of red, gold and green.
- Asian boy and girl doll designed in signature colors of red and gold.
- Each doll's face is intentionally hand-embroidered, giving the dolls similar, but unique, facial appearances.
All of the clothing is removable and washable, as is the doll itself. The clothing is designed in two color tones, which vary depending upon availability and inspiration. The carefully selected, vibrantly colored, and expressive fabrics are indigenous to ethnic groups worldwide. The complexions of the dolls—Cocoa, Ginger, and Cinnamon—are consistent. Each doll is filled with non-allergenic, 100% pure polyester fiber, leaving a very smooth, resilient and plush feel. The hair is sewn with four-ply worsted-weight 100% premium acrylic yarn, which does not unravel or give a fuzzy appearance. Matching ribbons complete the girl doll ensemble.
A great deal of time and attention is given to each doll to ensure its quality, durability, and unique personality.
