Our goal at The Baby Society is to provide an exciting way for parents and caregivers to introduce the world to their babies as a supplement to reading, playing and interacting.
The award-winning Baby Society videotapes
and DVDs were created by a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist
to entertain and enhance language development
in infants and toddlers. Each scene provides the opportunity for
language stimulation introducing common objects as well as language
phrases and concepts age-appropriate for babies and toddlers.
The Baby Society presents enchanting, whimsical scenes set
to delightful music to create a positive learning experience for discriminating
babies and their parents to enjoy together. Young viewers will love the scenes
of real animals, toys and other objects set in front of real-life counterparts:
rubber ducks paddle by on a real pond, a toy hippo wanders down a jungle path
and a flower-filled meadow provides the backdrop for an "oinking" pig.
This tape encourages the following early language skills:
- visual tracking
- object permanence
- auditory attention
- recognition of objects
- cause and effect
- understanding of early language concepts and phrases
- naming/labeling
