For more than 10 years now, ADLM, inc. has been empowering children (along with many enthusiastic adults) with the knowledge and material to create their own authentic medieval armors through the Chain Mail Smith series of do-it-yourself armor kits. The kits include all the material to assemble a chain mail armor as well as two beautifully detailed 16"x20" full color posters describing the process of assembling chain mail.

In 2001, ADLM Books was created with the same idea in mind: teach to children while entertaining them and empowering them to create a convincing piece of armor of their own. This time, the kit takes the shape of a fully illustrated book on the history of chain mail accompanied by plastic chain mail. The book is easy to read and rich in historical content. Anecdotes and lively drawings are used to captivate the young reader's imagination and stimulate deeper interest and understanding.
