Schoenhut Piano Co., Inc.

Schoenhut toy pianos are authentic musical instruments, built to encourage active play. Small hammers strike metal rods, producing lovely chime-like tones. Each piano is chromatically tuned, which educates the ear of the young performer to the true values of musical notes and their combinations. Another point of merit is that the keys are correctly spaced, corresponding to those on a big piano, enabling the child to learn proper "finger stretch" required for playing. Each piano has one and a half to three octaves (depending on the model) - compared with seven and a half octaves on a full-sized piano.

The Classic Baby Grand
SCHOENHUT® Traditional Spinet
Model 309

How many children have their "very own" Baby Grand Piano? Encourage your child to be creative at the piano and he will be composing and playing ballads just like Schroeder in the comic strip "Peanuts". This unique miniature version is designed to encourage the very young to play and develop a love of music.

Chromatically tuned with a full two-octave span, small hammers strike metal rods, producing lovely chime-like tones. The piano never gets out of tune and the tone never changes. The Learning System, with its play-by-color assortment of songs, is designed to bring immediate success. A removable color-coordinated strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. As your child learns and grows, it can be transferred to a larger piano. The corresponding Songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes.

Model 6625M, 25-key

Played at Carnegie Hall by internationally acclaimed concert pianist Margaret Leng Tan, Schoenhut''s Traditional Spinet is a musical instrument of highest quality. Publicized in the New York Times, this is the only toy piano ever played at Carnegie Hall. Certain to enhance your child''s love of music with its endearing melodic tones.

Chromatically tuned, the lovely chime-like notes are produced by little hammers striking precision-ground, German steel music rods (versus the conventional taut wires used in full-sized models).

Schoenhut's® patented Learning System, with its play-by-color teaching method, makes playing simple and fun. A removable color strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. The chart also works on adult keyboards, since keys on Schoenhut® toy pianos are of corresponding width. This teaches children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning. This Learning System has been specially designed to build a child's confidence and develop basic playing skills.
