Eiko Koga, a representative at the Bandai Hobby Center in Shizuoka, Japan, thought they were adorable. “I am a big fan of Mario, as are many people. Children and adults collect these and hope to get them all. Plus, they hold your keys. I like them very much.” As of December 2007, TDmonthly’s Toy Sleuth said these were not yet available in the United States.

They are difficult, and can be quite challenging,” said Dane Raleigh, a toy collector in London. “Me and the mates took it to the pub and played nine holes, set up along the bar. Puchi Puchi is the onomatopoeic name for this cell phone strap or key chain adornment. In Japanese, "puchi" is the sound that bubble wrap makes when popped. Made of plastic and armed with the usual-sized staples, this is a conversation piece whether brought to school or into the office. Matt Sanders, secretary of the Holiest of Grail Movie Watching Society has ordered the stapler and had this to say: “That's the most foul, cruel and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on! He's got huge, sharp – eh – he can leap about — look at the bones!”
