The appearance of giant robots on Earth has changed the world, but some have apparently adapted to it.  Take Sam Witwicky, who befriended the heroic Autobots in the feature films. He will appear as a 2-1/4-inch figure made to ride within his friend Bumblebee the Camaro. The Human Alliance collection allows kids to play with the human and non-human characters together, reenacting scenes from the movies. The human figures can ride inside the vehicle modes, or be positioned in different battle stations on the robot mode.

JAKKS is flexing its muscles with today's best wrestlers. There are 6 in each assortment, and new waves will be released every other month. "This product has all the qualities of a stylish collectible, while remaining durable enough to play with or display in many different ways. It's designed to be fun and fashionable for both boys and girls of nearly all ages," Damien Noble, president of Idolz Toys LLC, told TDmonthly. Launch date: September 2009.

This 3"-tall disembodied head of Freud is made of soft foam rubber designed for squeezing. It can be kept in the car for stressful commutes and on the desk at work for those days when nothing seems to go right. It comes in a net bag with an illustrated header. Launch date: April 17, 2009.

Squeak? You'd squeal like a pig if this ghoulish Halloween child got a hold of you on a dark starless night. She comes dressed in an eerie swine costume, but what's underneath her mask is even more frightening.

There are hundreds of different Star Wars action figures, but the Droid Factory line lets kids make their own. Kids can use 12 action figures per wave to make their own distinctive droids to add to their stories. Launch date: Fall 2009.

The two-toys-in-one Transformers change from robot to vehicle or beast. The characters from “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” are available in three scales. The Deluxe scale includes 24 figures. The next largest size is Voyager, with 11. There are three Leader class figures, which also have lights and sounds. Pictured is the Deluxe Soundwave. Launch date: Summer 2009.

During each episode of the “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” cartoon, the Dark Knight teams up with a fellow hero, such as Blue Beetle or Aquaman. These figures come with interchangeable accessories so boys can “build up” the figures and “battle up” the bad guys. They can also “change up” the figures by snapping and switching parts. Launch date: Spring 2009.

Standing 7" tall and fully articulated, Dexter comes with interchangeable arms, allowing him to transform from killer to blood-splatter expert and back again. "He also includes loads of great accessories: knife, body bag, ID badge, and blood slide. ... This sculpt is personally approved by Michael C. The Shaun 12" Figure features an authentic likeness of Simon Pegg as Shaun in cult horror/comedy pic "Shaun of the Dead." His body features 30-points of articulation. In addition to his shirt, tie, pants, socks, shoes, and belt, he has a nametag, two vinyl records with sleeves, a cricket bat, pool cue and two sets of interchangeable hands. The Figure Display Base features a "Shaun of the Dead" logo. Limited edition of 750 pieces.

MEZCO Toyz joined forces with New Line Cinema's House of Horrors, the licensing division for "Friday the 13th," "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street," to breathe life into some otherwise very dead characters. Under their horror brand, CINEMA OF FEAR, MEZCO has released the second COF series of Deluxe Plush characters from House of Horrors ,combining highly detailed roto-cast heads, hands and feet with a plush body and removable fabric outfit. Following the breakout success of COF Roto Plush Series 1, Mezco revisits these horror icon’s softer side; *Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 features the new mask worn in the second TCM movie. Leatherface also has a completely new outfit and his trusty oversized chainsaw accessory. He stands approximately 13" tall.

MEZCO Toyz joined forces with Warner Bros. Studios to breathe life into some otherwise very dead characters. MEZCO released the second Cinema of Fear series of Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street Deluxe Plush characters combining highly detailed roto-cast heads, hands and feet with a plush body and removable fabric outfit. Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th Part 2" features the “sack mask” look he experimented with before settling on his hockey mask and includes pick axe accessory. Each stands approximately 13" tall.

This hand-painted figure has an intricate suit of armor and wields a broad sword and battle ax. Launch date: April 2009.

This hand-painted dragon is wearing armor and has fire coming out of its mouth. "Hotaling Inc. believes that in a world full of too many passive play options, children should be encouraged to engage in self-driven play.
