November 2010 Notable Toys — Cars

This 15 car set will be packaged in a display Collector case with a road map packaging that marks out the “Mother Road” as it journeys through each of the eight states from Chicago to L.A.  The cars chosen for this collectible item all belong, like the route itself, to the Golden age of motoring.  All materials used are authentic with real rubber tires and 100% die-cast metal body and chassis.  Detailed graphics, custom license plates, serialized and official licensing by the respective automobile companies make each of these cars correct and credible replicas. 

Included in this package are 8 ready-for-action, 4" P/B racing cars.

A fun remote-controlled car based on the movie.  Red and yellow with a big thick bumper in the front, this car is easy to steer.

This new product gives boys and girls the chance to race the Ford Crown Victoria “Police Interceptor” with flashing red and blue lights and a Ford Mustang ’67 “Custom” through roads that are straight and curved.  The set comes with 2 cars, straight and curved track, 4 way junction, transformer, mechanical lap counter, 2 hand controllers, guardrails, and replacement guide keels and brushes. The race set includes a track length of 11.81 feet with a footprint of 4.66 x 2.30 feet.

— In a November 2011 survey, Joe Berardoni, owner of Pun's Toys in Bryn Mawr, Pa., told TDmonthly that they don't sell many hobby items. However, they do sell Kid Galaxy products year round, while "Carrera radio controlled cars and trucks" sell well during the Holidays.

The Hot Tunerz 5-Pack of Hot Wheels cars from Mattel features five different models and five sharp paint jobs on realistic street racing cars.  The free-rolling cars are modeled to a detailed 1:64 scale, and are a great starter or addition to a collection of other Hot Wheels cars.

— Six out of 38 retailers said Hot Wheels are a best-selling item during a July 2010 survey of top-selling die-cast items.
— Gwen Bowden, manager of Doodlehopper 4 Kids in Springfield, Va., told TDmonthly in a Summer 2011 survey that her best-selling die-cast is "Hot wheel cars, both singles and 5 or 6 packs." She sells about 36 each month.

— In a summer 2011 survey, Rebecca Goblish, owner of Picayune Toys in Dunwoody, Ga., told TDmonthly that Marble Racers are her best-selling die-cast toys. She sold 3 dozen of their race tracks last Christmas season.
