Flying Monkey LLC was founded to develop and deliver great toys to inspire kids to learn more about science and the world they live in. Evolvems is our debut brand that combines innovative toy design with engaging online content to provide kids ages 7 and up with opportunities to explore and understand evolution and related sciences. Evolvems, evolutionary transforming plush toys, bring the process of evolution to life.

Each toy in the Evolvems line is actually two toys in one! At first it looks like a normal animal or dino plush toy. But unzip and flip, and you have just transformed the toy into a totally new creature! Each Evolvems toy represents two real animals that are related but separated by tens or hundreds of millions of years of evolution. Kids will love being transported back through time to experience these amazing creatures.

Evolvems toys are the perfect gift for the kid who loves animals, dinosaurs and science.

Evolvems - Pakicetus-Squalodon
Pakicetus
Pakicetus-Squalodon is the first of Evolvems, evolutionary transforming plush toys, to be developed. Pakicetus-Squalodon represents an amazing evolutionary transition that led to all modern whales. Whales, which are mammals not fish, developed from land mammals that began to venture further and further into the ocean for a meal and protection from predators.

First up as we travel through time is Pakicetus. He is a scrappy mammal from about 50 million years ago. This is a time when there is an explosion of new mammals as life recovers from the extinction that killed off most of the dinosaurs. Pakicetus was mostly a land dweller who occasionally ventured into the ocean to catch his favorite meal, fish. Pakicetus, although he looks a lot like a modern hyena, is actually an ancestor of all modern whales.

Squalodon
Watch Video
Unzip and flip Pakicetus, and Squalodon shows his cute face. As Pakicetus and his descendants spent more time in the ocean they adapted over millions of years for life in the ocean. Toes became webbed. Legs got shorter and turned into flippers. Eventually tails developed and what we know today as whales and dolphins evolved. Squalodon is an early toothed whale and true king of his element. About the size of a shark he is a great sea hunter and enjoys his life of freedom in the open ocean.
