The chairs are extremely fragile. One was delivered broken on arrival (with no package damages). Another chair broke in the same spot under a 25lbs child. Luckily, no injuries. Both chair legs broke in the same exact spot -- apparently the manufacturing process overstrikes the particle board around the holes and bolts. Be advised that the product information doesn't disclose that the so called "quality fiber" particle board contains formaldehyde. Overall, the set look really slick, but the claim that their are "safe" and "sturdy" is untrue. I'd suggest avoiding this set at all costs.

    I say this though I love every other P'kolino product I've bought. This set looks really cute and was easy to put together. The table held up great. I wish I could have rated the table and chairs separately. We had one chair fall completely apart after about 6 months, so that we had to glue it back together (screws were stripped and wood torn, just from a 2 year old sitting on it). Then both fell apart and I ordered a new one to replace the worst and used wood nails and packing tape to secure the other. Finally, in the end, they both fell apart again, new one included. Now I'm going to throw out the chairs and sand the table down to make it a magnetic chalkboard table. It is still sturdy and holding up great! But not worth it if you have to buy the flimsy chairs with it.

    I wanted to furnish a toddler bedroom for my 2.5 year old son. I believe that kids furniture should be happy looking and well made. I did a lot of research over the interned and visited a number of stores and did not find anything that was well made and colourful at the same time. I liked the looks of the P'kolino furniture right away but was not sure how well made it was. I went through the effort of looking for a store that would actually carry it, but did not find one. So finally I ordered it on the internet. It came on time and was EXACTLY what I was looking for: happy, friendly, well made. My son loves it and is very comfortable in the bed. The table and chairs set are wonderful as well and sturdy. The bookcase is charming and well sized for a small reader. P'kolino is definitely good value and great design. I would recommend it to anyhody who appreciates nice things.

    We saw this table and chair set at a friend’s house, and fell in love with it. We looked online for several weeks trying to find a great deal, I end up purchasing it on Amazon.

    All three of my kids do enjoy sitting there to eat, read, color, play with toys, etc. the finish is such that it is easy to clean, and the smooth rounded table and chair legs don’t scratch the wood floors when they move around. It is compact enough that it doesn’t take up too much space in any room, and we can easily move it to the dining room for a kids table when we have guests over.

    My one complaint, and the sole reason I only gave this set 3 stars, is that the chair broke when my 4 year old sat on it one day. The back legs snapped below the seat, and she fell backward onto the floor. Thankfully she was not hurt, but she was scared. And the jagged wood where the legs broke could have easily cut or scratched her when she fell. We were lucky.

    Our 20-month-old loves this table and chair set. She's a tad small for the chairs (her feet don't reach the ground), but she can sit on them by herself. The set is very cute and well made, it's easy to clean and easy to assemble. I wouldn't recommend an adult sitting on the chairs for very long, though. The one drawback to this set is the fact that the design of the feet of the table and chairs, though adorable, makes for a very slippery situation. You can't stick rubber dots on the bottoms b/c of the curve of the feet, so you can only put a rubbery surface down. A rug is OK, but not great, b/c some rugs are kind of silky or the pile is so short that the furniture slides a bit anyway. I'm sure this isn't as big an issue with older kids, but for the little ones, they need to be able to push against the furniture to get on and off it. We found a colorful rubber mat at BJ's for cheap, so we use that, and it works great.

    Quality is not as great as expected. The design of the table and chairs are cute but I didn't like the glossy sticker-like wood-printed wrap on the tabletop, arms, legs. We'll see how it lasts in the long run but I was hoping for better quality given the money. I'm also curious to see how the "popsicle stick" construction holds up to my boys. I hope it's sturdy enough.
