By TDmonthly Staff
December 2003

Color Pixter
For the child who envies Dad or Mom’s PDA, the new Pixter Color from Fisher Price ($79.99) allows preschoolers to pretend they’re in the grownup world—albeit a more carefree one. A 128-color back-lit screen and new features such as "Color by Numbers" and "Connect the Magic Dots" let kids draw, select menus, and create effects such as digital stamps and animated special effects.

A built in speaker makes fun sound effects, but there´s also a headphone jack to soothe parents’ nerves. An expansion slot accepts cards containing additional games and software ($19.99 each). Available titles include Barbie, Rescue Heroes, and of course, SpongeBob SquarePants, with more to come. Pixter Color runs on four AA batteries.
