of DVD/CD’s that introduce the young child to a full range of the performing
arts. This multi award winning set of 30 updated nursery rhymes, are beautifully
costumed and choreographed to three of our major dance genres; tap, ballet and

Nursery Tap Hip to Toe Volume I
Husband/Wife team Mathew and Juleen Murray Shaw founded Nursery Tap, LLC with
the intention of producing beautiful children’s videos that introduce
the small child to the performing arts in an “out of the box” kind
of way. Juleen believes using traditional nursery rhymes as the accompaniment
for tap, ballet, hip hop, acting, singing, word play, rhythm and rhyming stimulates
the brain and body of little ones in addition to giving them a love of words
and the arts for a life time.
To keep the focus on the words and the movement, she decided to shoot all of
the dancers/rhymes from just above the waist down. This keeps the child from
being distracted by someone else’s facial interpretation and allows them
to imagine themselves as one of the dancer/actor/singers.
This innovative approach is why Nursery Tap is possibly the most honored debut
in children’s entertainment video history. To date, it has won nine national
awards; including the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award.
This marks the first time the Peabody has ever been given to a direct to home
children’s “edutainment” video. Nursery Tap is honored to
be a permanent fixture at the Museum of Television & Radio
in New York City as well as the archives at the University of Georgia’s
