Founded 20 years ago, Thermo Scientific NITON Analyzers is the world’s leading producer of portable x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers, with over 12,000 units installed worldwide. NITON has headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts with offices in Rhode Island and Oregon; Munich, Germany; Shanghai, China; and Hong Kong.

Company sales have grown over 100 times since NITON introduced the first handheld XRF analyzers in 1994. Since that time Thermo Scientific NITON Analyzers has developed the first environmentally–sealed portable XRF instruments; the first portable XRF instruments with miniature x-ray tube sources; the first portable XRF instruments with light–element analysis capability; and the first portable XRF instruments with small–spot analysis capability. NITON handheld XRF instruments provide users with rapid, reliable, nondestructive, on–site sample analysis.
