Kikkerland is a Dutch term of endearment meaning “land of frogs,” where the president of the company, Jan van der Lande, was born: Holland, located in the west of the Netherlands, a maritime region, Holland lies on the North Sea at the mouths of the Rhine and the Meuse (Maas).
In 1987, the original office was located in a Dutch style houseboat in New York City’s Hudson River area where Mr. van der Lande has lived for 20 years. Kikkerland headquarters are now located in a former brewery building in Harlem, New York City.
Kikkerland Design’s design philosophy is lighthearted and innovative with a dual meaning or purpose.
