So, you’ve built a killer web site jam-packed with great offers for your customers. The only problem is, how are you going to let the online community know about it? One of the best ways to get started is by buying ads on pre-established, related sites. Additionally, you may want to employ the new-marketing techniques of writing articles for e-newsletters.

“Free articles [in e-newsletters] continue to be one of the most effective ways of quickly generating traffic and sales, without paying for advertising,” says Michael Southon in his article, “How to Boost Your Affiliate Sales with Free Articles” on www.freezineweb.com. What are e-newsletters, or ezines? They are email newsletters sent directly to people interested in a particular topic. Many e-newsletters are published quite frequently and, as a result, need more content. That’s where you come in. You can write articles for these e-newsletters and plug your business for free in the process, reaching as many subscribers as the e-newsletter has amassed.
How do you get started? First off, you’ll have to find e-newsletters that focus on your customer base. Topics like Kids, Teens, Parenting, Shopping, eBusiness, Moms, Video Games, and other areas relating to the toy business. Where do you find e-newsletters like these? Look at ezine listing agents like ezinelocator.com, freezineweb.com, newslettersuite.com, newz2me.com, and newslettersforfree.com. Then, subscribe to e-newsletters in these categories.

Many of these listing agents tell you if a specific e-newsletter accepts articles. If so, they may list a few guidelines. If not, it always helps to send a polite email inquiring on their policies on accepting articles. Mention that you are a business owner, and list your site for them to peruse. The worst they can do is to say no. At best, they may ask you to submit an article (cont.)
