Editorial Reviews

The TDmonthly Editorial Review page is devoted entirely to product reviews. These reviews are written by staff members after sorting through products that have been submitted to the office. As we receive hundreds of toys per year, we only select the most eye-catching toys for free review.

Manufacturers who wish to guarantee that their toys will be evaluated in the Review section should send a payment of $150.00 per toy along with the toy itself to:

The majority of toys that are considered for review are later donated to children's services organizations in the Los Angeles area such as Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Expert Mom Reviews

In addition, each month TDmonthly Magazine selects between 5 and 15 outstanding products and submits them to our Expert Mom for review. She tests the products with her own children as well as the preschoolers in her arts class and reports back in an article that we post in the Mom's Perspective section on the home page of TDmonthly Magazine. Her opinions also get posted to the Review page mentioned above.

Roundtable Reviews

The Mom's Perspective section also includes a Homeschooling Roundtable, in which a group of 5 homeschooling mothers, their tween girls and the tweens' younger siblings evaluate between 3 and 5 toys each month for educational and play value.

We also feature a Roundtable Review by TDmonthly writers that moonlight as moms. They are sent three products direct from manufacturers to test out with their children in a playgroup setting with other moms and kids.
