TOY FAIR WEEK: Week-long 100th Anniversary Celebration

International TOY FAIR is celebrating its 100th show this year!
To mark this landmark event, Toy Industry Association (TIA™)
has developed, along with our industry partners, TOY FAIR WEEK—a
celebration comprised of special events and commemorative publications
which salute the industry and the power of play.
From kickoff
to closing, the 100th anniversary of TOY FAIR will be a festive
event that commemorates the history of the U.S. toy industry, while
celebrating its strength and successes. By highlighting the industry’s
countless accomplishments over the last century, TIA will celebrate
the many companies and individuals that have made the world of toys
such an energizing business today. Exhibitors, attendees and media
are invited to participate in the week’s festivities and are
encouraged to play an active role in the celebration.

with the following events that will take place during TOY FAIR Week:

2/13: The Toy District: Center of the World of Toys will
highlight the historic toy district in New York City. Fri.,
2/14: Celebrating the Design Process The Toy Design Department
at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) will host a reception and
tour from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon. Invited media and industry guests
can meet with Judy Ellis, Toy Design Department founder and chairperson,
and FIT faculty and alumni; tour the toy design facilities; visit
a plush design classroom; and view exciting creations designed by

2/15: 3rd Annual T.O.T.Y. Awards Ceremony You won’t
want to miss this exciting Awards Dinner at The Waldorf-Astoria
from 6:30-11:30 PM. The 2003 Hall of Fame Inductees, toy inventor
Eddy Goldfarb and the late Antonio Pasin, founder of Radio Flyer,
Inc., will be honored at this event. The T.O.T.Y. Awards include
14 industry awards and the much coveted People’s Choice Toy
Of The Year. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Contact Colleen
