TOY FAIR WEEK: Week-long 100th Anniversary Celebration
February 1, 2003

Sun., 2/16: Javits Opening Day: Record Breaking Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Opening Night Centennial Bash Join us for the kickoff at Javits as we break the Guinness World Record for “World’s Largest Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony.” This exciting event will take place just prior to the show opening at 8:45 AM with birthday cake for all! Also, don’t miss the TOY FAIR Centennial Bash at The NEW Copacabana, 560 W. 34th St., 6:00- 9:00 PM. Tickets are $25 and are available in advance during the registration process; half of each ticket price will be donated to the Toy Industry Foundation. If you have not yet ordered your Centennial Bash tickets, please visit the TOY FAIR website at www.toy-tia.org/AITF/bashtickets.html and download a Centennial Bash Order Form today! Tickets are limited, so order early! (Note: You must be a registered TOY FAIR attendee or exhibitor to order tickets; registered attendees and exhibitors may order additional tickets for staff and guests. No one under 18 will be admitted.)

Mon., 2/17: Celebrating a Century of Toys The media focus for this day will be on the current state of the toy industry, while highlighting some of the most memorable accomplishments during the last one hundred years.

Tues., 2/18: The Front Lines: Honoring Toy Retailers In January, NYC toy retailers will receive a special commemorative TOY FAIR anniversary poster with their show invitations; a limited quantity of these posters will be available for purchase at the show. ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association) and TIA will co-sponsor a breakfast seminar at the Javits Center. Conference seminars and TOY FAIR Times articles will focus on retailers.

Wed., 2/19: Caring for Children Activities will focus on the toy industry’s charitable work, specifically through the Toy Industry Foundation. In addition, on the last day of TOY FAIR, exhibitors traditionally contribute significant amounts of product to K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations).

We hope that you will visit the Toy Industry Association website at toy-tia.org/AITF, for more information about all of these exciting programs.
