FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TDmonthly Magazine Announces Top Toys for 2007
Publication Recognizes 60 Products in First-Ever Awards Program

Los Angeles, Calif. (October 2007) – TDmonthly Magazine is pleased to announce the 60 winners of its first annual toy awards. Winners do not pay a fee to enter the competition. They are independently nominated based on several factors, including editorial evaluation of toys and games encountered first-hand at industry trade shows (e.g., American International Toy Fair), consumer review and — most of all — specialty retailer recommendation.

Because TDmonthly is a trade magazine devoted to identifying new trends in the specialty toy industry, its staff is uniquely qualified to recognize toys of superior value. More than 300 nominees from over 250 companies were considered for the four awards:

  • TDmonthly Top Toy 2007
  • TDmonthly Top Seller 2007
  • TDmonthly Innovations 2007
  • TDmonthly Classic 2007
Winners were selected based on a number of criteria, including product quality, safety and design; play value; appeal to both children and parents; review by TDmonthly staff, experts and/or consumers; positive effect on children and society; and the success of each toy within the specialty market (often marked by inclusion in a TDmonthly Top-10 article), or its potential to perform well in specialty stores.

TDmonthly takes toys seriously, and believes that great toys that inspire creativity, caring and intelligence will one day help to shape a better world.

Nominees for the awards will be included in the 2007 TDmonthly Specialty Toys Report, which will be offered to the general public, retailers and the press. Its mission is to help consumers make informed buying decisions for the holidays and to introduce them to companies and products that may not be found in mass-market stores.
