One day, an elephant wakes up to find that his entire back half is missing, so he sets off on his two front legs to find his two back legs and tail. While searching, he meets plenty of other creatures in the same predicament. He tries to team up with some of the other halves, but it's not a good match. Meanwhile, his back half's looking for another front half, with a similar lack of success. After all, how can a monkey's front end jump from tree to tree, when attached to an elephant's back end? Written and illustrated by Gusti, the 40-page book uses digital images of numerous discarded objects to "show children that art can be created from objects that usually end up in the garbage can," says the author. Hardcover, 40 pages. Launch date: September 2006.
