Wakamaru can recognize the faces of up to 10 people and talk to them. The manufacturer claims that when the robot is linked to cell phones, it can alert its owners to troubling situations at home, such as a burglary or illness. The company plans to sell 100 of the 66-pound robots. It retails for $14,300.
