Safari Ltd® is an American, family-owned manufacturer and worldwide distributor of award-wining replicas inspired by nature and powered by the imagination. For more than 30 years Safari Ltd® has produced authentic, educational figures that teach children the importance of nature and its conservation through the joy of play.

Safari Ltd® was inspired in 1979 by an endangered species card game that founders Bernard and Rosemarie Rubel discovered while visiting the Munich Zoo in Germany. Fueled by their passion to educate through the joy of play, the Rubels transformed that rummy game into a collection of museum-quality replicas enjoyed by children, adults, educators and collectors alike.
 
As Safari Ltd® grew, they signed license agreements with Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Monterey Bay Aquarium in 1986 and 1994. These licenses established them as a leading producer and distributor of scale model dinosaurs and sea life worldwide.
 
Inspired by her parents’ passion, the founders’ daughter Ramona Pariente and her son Alexandre Pariente continue to create authentic replicas that speak to the innate curiosity in all of us. For 2013 they are pleased to announce the addition of over 100 new hand-painted products.
 
Bernard Rubel once said, “In a highly technical world the most endangered species is the imagination. Without imagination, the individual loses the creative spark.” Safari Ltd® intends to never let that happen.
