Knut was the first polar bear cub at the Berlin Zoo in more than thirty years. However, he was born the size of a snowball, and was unable to take care of himself, leading his own mother to reject him. Zookeeper Thomas Dorflein adopted Knut, feeding him, sleeping with him and giving him the love and attention Knut needed to survive. Soon, Knut captured the attention and hearts of people from all around the world. Launch date: November 2007.
