With TDmonthly's "2012: A Year of Charity" Kids get Toys, Manufacturers get Publicity

TDmonthly's "2012: A Year of Charity" promotional program is ready for its next round! This time, retailers will be competing to give away 100+ top-quality educational toys to local schools, Headstart programs and children's charities.

The giveaways will take place August through September, just in time for participating manufacturers to get noticed by retailers for the holiday buying season. Already, seven companies have signed up: b. dazzle, inc., FIND IT GAMES, EDUCATION OUTDOORS, MOVING PICTURE BOOKS, CROSSEN CREATIONS, AMAZING SCIENCE DVDs, and UNCLE SKUNKLE.

That's 700 educational products, toys and games that will be making their way to kids in some lucky retailers' neighborhoods this August and September.

Last month, winning retailers started giving away more than 115 high-quality toys EACH from top-notch manufacturers SCHOENHUT PIANO COMPANY, SAFARI LTD.®, HAPE INTERNATIONAL and MAGICFOREST LTD.

These manufacturers received five months of editorial coverage in TDmonthly Magazine, in articles profiling the companies and highlighting the products they donated. They were also featured in articles covering the giveaway events and the recipients' reactions to their products. Winning retailers' local media also covered the events, giving the manufacturers even more publicity.

Renee Trinca, president of Schoenhut Piano Company and two time participant in TDmonthly's charity programs, had this to say about the experience:

"Our contribution of 100 toy pianos in TDmonthly's 2010 Charitable Kid contest targeting children in need was such a heart-warming experience that we are overjoyed to participate again...We sincerely hope that colleagues in the toy industry will jump on TDmonthly's very worthwhile charitable bandwagon, providing encouragement and joy to impoverished children."

Robin Lehnert, marketing manager for Hape International, agreed that the program is worthwhile. "TDmonthly's 'Year of Charity' Program is a perfect fit for our ideals," she said.
