This is necessary for the safety of the fewer than 20 individuals remaining in the wild. Because they are so exceptionally protected, the Red Wolves we are able to follow are no longer living in the wild population. We choose to honor their lives and legacies to grow awareness for the world’s most endangered wolf, and to continue to support vital conservation efforts to restore the species.
