Remo makes a number of Big-Spring Drums and Thunder Tubes that emit a wide variety of sounds when shaken and played by cupping one hand over the opening. Scraping or tapping the spring produces more sounds. This Thunder Tube model measures 7” x 2.5” and produces many great combinations of mysterious, deep sounds with terrific rhythmic capabilities. It’s a versatile and very playable instrument.
— Matt Hannifin, owner of Science Toy Magic in Santa Fe, N.M., demonstrated it over the phone: “Loud, isn’t it?” They sell very well for him.
— Big Remo Thunder Tubes are rated a “Terrific Toy” by Intelligent Outfitters of Rehoboth Beach, Del.
— Played and used by many professional percussionists, its design was inspired by Indian jazz drummer Trilok Gurtu.

The Remo Floor Tom is a professional quality drum made to fit smaller hands. It can be played with the two included mallets, hands, or the stick side of the mallet for a variety of sounds. Manufactured with Remo Acousticon®, a proprietary material made with 100% recycled wood fiber and a durable synthetic drumhead. Measures 7.5” tall x 10” diameter. Drumming is a great way to start learning basic musical skills and explore counting. It has been shown to channel energy in a positive way and help kids express themselves.
— “Tom Tom drum by Remo; [we sell] about 100 per year,” said Joanne Farrugia, owner of JaZams in Pennington, NJ, of her top-selling musical toy.
— “I think drums as a category are strongest,” Tara Friese, assistant manager of Tree Top Toys in Redmond, Wash., replied when asked about her store’s music category in July 2008.
— “[My customers] prefer cymbals and percussion instruments,” said Anna Barr, owner of Anna's Toy Depot in Austin, Texas, who credited her clients’ preference for basic acoustic instruments over more electronic or battery operated toys.

Kids will have fun building and playing with the colorful and great-sounding Handle-Leg Connectors. Educators can use the connectors to help children learn dynamically in a unique, hands-on way, turning otherwise typical education curriculum into a multi-sensory learning experience. “Lincoln Logs, Legos and Erector Sets are classic fun educational toys. Handle-Leg Connectors with Sound Shapes have the similar building qualities, but they also have the unique quality of making music,” REMO Inc. Marketing & Media Coordinator Sue Kincade told TDmonthly. Launch date: January 2006.
