Mist over Carcassonne is a standalone cooperative variant of the classic Carcassonne board game. Players work together to protect the land from encroaching fog and restless spirits while building roads and cities. The objective is to earn enough victory points before running out of tiles or being overwhelmed by ghosts. Gameplay involves managing threats such as spreading fog, controlling wandering spirits, containing cursed land in cemeteries, and strategically using haunted castles. The game includes modular components that can also be integrated into the original Carcassonne (Game of the Year 2001) as an expansion. Designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede, Mist over Carcassonne supports 1-5 players aged 8 and up, with an average playtime of 35 minutes per session. The game is in German.
