Japan-based SolidAlliance is known for its USB oddities (such as USBSquid and USB Sushi, for example), and now they’ve combined the computer outlet with a Mini Cooper, made it radio-controlled and added a recharging garage to boot. Individuals can drive it right into the garage and it charges itself in less than 10 minutes. As the company’s Kita Aizawa explained, “It is a very good toy. It goes fast, and I have played with it. Everyone should like it.”

Puchi Puchi is the onomatopoeic name for this cell phone strap or key chain adornment. In Japanese, "puchi" is the sound that bubble wrap makes when popped. This little device features eight bubbles for unending popping fun, a small speaker that emits a convincing pop sound and a tactile, bubble wrap feel.

Mmm... calamari. Lately the stolid USB flash memory market has been brightened up with fun accessories — everything from glowing ducks to chameleons — but Solid Alliance has gone them one better with a half-gig memory stick that not only glows, but also looks like a squid. Yup, cephalopod fetishists unite: This is your memory stick of choice. Imagine impressing your sushi-loving boss with one of these, or as a gift for the Cthulu fan. Marge Donklin, assistant manager at the Jackson, Miss., CompUSA pointed out that “USB sticks are becoming trendy. People are accessorizing with them and defining their ‘look.’ Squids would be really interesting.”
