Rip Squeak, the brave little mouse, returns for a third installment in author Leonard Filgate’s series, joining his sister and their two friends (a frog and a kitten) on an adventure set in the neighborhood pond. The real excitement begins when Rip is separated from his pals and comes face to face with a real live pond monster.

The first book in the best-selling Rip Squeak series is now available in a new edition with a parent-friendly shorter text and a new design. One morning, the family that lives in the little vacation cottage packs their bags and leaves. That's how Rip Squeak's day begins and soon the resourceful little mouse and his sister Jesse go off in search of great adventures and good things to eat. Along the way they meet Abbey, the little kitten who was left in the cottage by mistake, and Euripides, a frog with a dramatic flair. What they learn is that making friends is the greatest adventure of all. Leonard Filgate's richly detailed paintings-which hark back to the work of the great turn-of-the-century illustrators-combine with Susan Yost-Filgate's exciting story to bring this magical world to life.

Written by Susan Yost-Filgate and lavishly illustrated by Leonard Filage, this 32-page hardcover book follows Rip Squeak, a good-hearted mouse, and his animal friends as they discover a map tucked away in a book of pirate stories. Determined to find the treasure, they set out on a marvelous journey. Along the way they encounter some colorful new characters and discover that the word “treasure” can have more than one meaning.
