This open-ended craft activity allows students to explore basic STEM concepts through hands-on creation and experimentation. The project challenges learners to design, build, and test their own balloon-powered cars while considering practical questions about distance and weight distribution. The kit contains wooden dowels, straws, balloons, rubber bands, and assorted building materials including styrofoam, paper, and foam pieces. Each completed car measures 2 3/4" x 5". The set makes 10 cars and requires basic assembly with tape or glue (not included). The activity encourages problem-solving and creative thinking as students decorate and modify their designs.
