Yellow Diamond is one of several handmade monstas that hatched from eggs discovered by a missionary boy named Leroy after a volcanic eruption in Papua New Guinea. “She is familiar and foreign simultaneously. The two seemingly opposite cultures of Papua New Guinea and Hanna Barbera initially appear to have nothing in common, until you see them successfully reflected in Yellow Diamond's character,” Monsta Funk told TDmonthly.
