This new CD from the top jazz music label Verve features jazz interpretations of classic children’s songs and more, performed by some of the hottest names in jazz including Sharon Jones (the Dap Kings), John Medeski (Medeski Martin and Wood), and Steven Bernstein. The CD is the first title in a planned "Baby Loves Music" series from Verve. Price Stern Sloan/Penguin Young Readers will also publish a "Baby Loves Jazz" book series in August.  Created by music industry veteran Andy Blackman Hurwitz, Baby Loves Music begins as a way for parents to introduce their children to different genres without dumbing down the content or presentation; it’s real music played by real musicians.

The record is both a book and Broadway show in one, featuring the collaborative efforts of Prince Paul, Ursula Rucker, Chris Rock, Dave and Pos of De La Soul and much more. The CD follows five best dinosaur friends on a musical adventure as they teach key life lessons and have fun at the same time. Launch date: April 1, 2008.
