Mixed Messages Can Harm Our Children

The New TSA Policies Go Too Far


As parents, we let our children know that being touched in or around their private parts is not okay. However, one little girl received very mixed messages about touching when TSA agents in New Orleans gave her a full body pat-down in front of the other travelers, instead of having her pass through a scanner like the rest of her family. Her father says that the six-year-old girl was "confused" and "didn't understand what she had done wrong," and broke down crying after the pat-down. You can see the girl's parents talk about what they tried to do, and how this affected their child, in the video below.



In this video of a three year old getting the full body pat-down, you can see just how traumatizing this unwanted touching can be.
