Part of the Jingle Beanies Collection, this adorable little penguin makes a great holiday gift. “Each 5” Jingle Beanie has a jingle bell inside to add a bit of holiday cheer, as well as a top loop that allows you to use it as holiday decoration or attach (to) backpacks, purses or zippers,” Dana Scott-Turkovich, marketing project supervisor for Ty Inc., told TDmonthly. Launch date: 2006.
This new Beanie Baby subcategories is proving to be one of the company’s most popular. These 5” mini Beanie Babies with top lock and clip allow kids to attach them to keys, purses or backpacks. Poofie, a black and white dog, Dizzy the Dalmatian and Luke the black lab, have been some of Ty’s most popular traditional Beanie designs.
This trio of adorable pups is new at Ty. At 8” each, Dooley, a blonde retriever puppy; Houston, a cocker spaniel puppy; and Outlaw, a black lab puppy, have such sweet faces they’re sure to hold mass appeal. “Dogs sell year round, and we know that these cute canines are sure to win hearts all over!” said Scott Wehrs, COO at Ty. — “Ty is a staple. Beanie Babies are reasonable,” was the judgment given by Andrea Keyes, manager of Dilly Dally’s in Rogers, Ariz. — “Ty Beanie Babies sell because of price point,” agreed Debbie Wurzburger, owner of The Toy Chest in Pikesville, Md. — Beanie Babies are such a “staple” for kids that a recent mother/son charity team donated them to needy children in Kenya (along with underwear and toothbrushes), according to an article in West Linn Tidings.
This 8” tall emperor penguin, aptly named Admiral, is so realistic looking kids might get a chill! “Penguins are the trend in wildlife now and we’re sure that Admiral will lead the fleet in this category,” said Scott Wehrs, COO at Ty.
Ty will also make its mark in the pet industry with the introduction of Bow Wow Beanies. Bow Wow Beanies are designed with squeakers and crinkle sounds that the family pooch is sure to love. Bow Wow Beanies are created in two sizes (for larger and smaller dogs) and designed both as some of customers’ favorite Beanie Babies styles and as dog bones in fabulous fabrics and colors. There are 22 designs in all. They will be ready for retail on April 1.
