The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted two Halloween-season toy recalls on Oct. 22, 2026, for light-up princess costumes and LED finger lights whose button batteries children can easily reach, plus a warning on squishy toys that contain water beads and a recall of a convertible high chair sold at Walmart and Target. Health Canada has also ordered a double-stroller recall. Here is what each notice says, how to identify the product and the remedy the agency gives. Recalled products are never linked or recommended here.
CIYTI Light-Up Princess Costumes (Recall 27-038, Oct. 22)

Hazard: CPSC says the costumes violate the mandatory safety standard for toys because children can easily get to the button cell batteries, a deadly ingestion hazard. CPSC says swallowed button cell or coin batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns, and death.
How to identify it: a blue dress with a light-up crown and wand, and a remote control; the crown, scepter and remote contain button batteries. There are no markings on the product, and the package says "CIYTI" on the front. About 94 were sold on Amazon from February 2025 through June 2025 for $21 to $35.
Remedy: take the costumes away from children immediately, stop using them and contact the seller, FoShanShiNanHaiQuNuoAiTongZhuangShangHang of China, for a full refund. Owners write "RECALLED" in permanent marker on the dress, crown, wand and remote, throw them away and email a photo (contact details are on the CPSC notice). No injuries were reported.

Bamamon LED Projecting Finger Light Toys (Recall 27-042, Oct. 22)

Hazard: each finger light holds three button cell batteries, and CPSC says children can easily open the battery compartments, a deadly ingestion hazard that violates the mandatory toy standard.
How to identify it: a box of 32 finger lights in red, orange, blue, black, purple, clear, green and yellow. They project eight space-themed patterns, such as astronauts, rockets, a UFO, a galaxy and solar systems, shown on labels on the front of the package. About 6,533 were sold on Amazon.com from March 2025 through August 2026 for about $13 to $14.
Remedy: stop using the toys immediately and contact Bamamon for a refund. Owners email the firm a photo showing the product properly thrown away in the trash (contact details are on the CPSC notice). No injuries were reported.

Battery disposal: for both battery recalls, CPSC notes that button cell batteries are hazardous and should be disposed of or recycled under local hazardous-waste procedures.
Kaizou Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun and Squeezy Dumpling Toys (CPSC Product Safety Warning 27-035, Oct. 22)

Hazard: CPSC says the toys violate the mandatory safety standard for toys containing water beads, posing deadly ingestion, choking and obstruction hazards.
Why this one is different: this is a CPSC warning, not a company recall. CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to distributor Kaizou Group Inc. of Pico Rivera, Calif., and says the company "has been unresponsive" to its request to recall the toys or offer a remedy, so there is no refund program.
How to identify them: both are translucent with a cartoon face and come in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer. The squishy buns contain glitter and water beads, and their removable label reads "Rainbow MYSTERY" and "ONE SET SUGAR EDITION." The dumplings contain multicolor water beads, and their label reads "SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS." The buns were sold at Easy Wholesale in San Jose, Calif., for $2.50 to $4.00, and the dumplings at a flea market in Galt, Calif.
What CPSC says to do: stop using the toys immediately and dispose of them; do not sell or give them away. No injuries were reported.

Costway Convertible High Chairs Sold at Walmart and Target (Recall 27-040, Oct. 22)

Hazard: CPSC says the chairs violate the mandatory high-chair standard because they have no passive restraint system, so a child can slip through the opening between the tray and the seat and become entrapped or fall, risking serious injury or death.
How to identify it: a high chair that converts into a table-and-chair set, in purple and white, red and white, blue and white, or brown and white. CPSC says there is no tracking information on the products. About 3,332 were sold at Walmart and Target stores nationwide and on Costway.com from May 2023 through July 2026 for $84 to $100.
Remedy: stop using the chair immediately and contact Costway (Goplus Corporation, doing business as Costway, of Fontana, Calif.) for a free replacement high chair. Owners provide a receipt or a photo, get a prepaid label to return the recalled chair, and Costway ships the replacement after it receives the recalled product. Costway's recall line is 844-242-1885, and more contact details are on the CPSC notice. No injuries were reported.

Canada: Valco Baby Trend Duo Double Stroller (Health Canada Recall RA-82703, Posted Oct. 1)

Hazard: Health Canada ordered Junior Brands Corp. of Toronto to recall the stroller after its sampling program found it does not meet Canada's Carriages and Strollers Regulations. Health Canada says the stroller may tip over, the leg opening in front of the seat can let a child's torso fit through (an entrapment risk), and areas around the seat may expose children to shearing or pinching.
How to identify it: model N0048 Cappuccino (batch 1018234-CAN, barcode 9 315517 100480), N0001 Night (batch 526251-CAN, barcode 9 315517 100015), N9939 Charcoal (batch 526251-CAN, barcode 9 315517 099395) and N0460 Cloud (batch 526251-CAN, barcode 9 315517 104600). The company reported 314 units sold in Canada from August 2024 to December 2025. As of Sept. 25, 2026, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
What Health Canada says to do: stop using the stroller immediately and contact Junior Brands Corp. "for additional information on how to eliminate the hazards" (contact details are on the Health Canada notice). This is a Canadian recall order; Health Canada's notice does not cover U.S. sales.
