What In The World?

Open this book, take apart a continent, then piece it back together. It’s simple to do since the pages of the Usborne Jigsaw World Atlas ($14.95; ages 5+) include the same designs as those appearing on each puzzle piece. The illustrations are vivid, inviting and informative. For each region of the world, there is also a section which asks the question, “Can you spot these things on the map?”

The book not only teaches children what country is where, but also, what the key characteristics of each place are. For example, there are pictures of camels in the Sahara Desert, the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, a picture of the Kennedy Space Center in North America, etc.
